Sorry. incorrect. Smjs post that you quoted is accurate in that there is no way to easily access a FSBO sale on RE. True in most states I suspect.

No, don't think that's accurate either. The county will get its share of taxes on a physical residential address based upon some type of known value. Details of that transaction recorded somewhere in accessible records.

I believe it is accurate. Our house in Galveston is valued for tax purposes at about 50% of its value. My fathers house in NC is valued for tax purposes at about 25% over what it would sell for. In Galveston at least there is no record of what a house sells for if sold by owner.
