Wondered if anyone has tried to get to the
Mediterranean from NW
Scotland by sailing West around
Ireland in a small cruising cat ... preferably, without ending up in
Madeira, the
Canaries or the
Azores en route! Could appropriate
weather windows avoiding Irish lee shores be a problem?
On the other hand, it might be possible to take the scenic
route,
day sailing or making short overnight passages down the Coast. One might then have a choice of routes around or across the Bay of Biscay!
Interested to hear your thoughts on this possibility, especially, if you have actually sailed this
route without crossing the Atlantic or even just worked your way down the
West Coast of
Ireland. Thanks for your input.
