Catamaran Company's New Specs Page - Ugh !

There was a complaint fest thread about brokers and advertising very recently. This is similar but it's just for multis so I started a new thread. Our old buddies The Catamaran Company Catamarans For Sale and their sister company 2hulls have changed their website. It used to be that you would look at a boat and get basic info but for more in depth specs you then had to click on the specifications tab for that page. You had to register to get access but it was painless and as a bonus you got a free copy of Multihulls magazine. I'm cool with that. Now the specs tab is gone with one that says contact us. Please tell me that they don't intend to have a broker contact you when you are just casually looking. I registered again to see what it would do and nada. Is it just me or is this a PIA. I guess I'm waiting for that call from the broker. I think they're the biggest multi dealer in the world and I like these guys. What was wrong with the old way? I'm done bitchin. I want a beer. BOB

I was going to say how dare you mock my bible!!

I did notice that today. I suspect the website is still misbehaving as they have had trouble for the last few weeks.

Have you tried registering or reregistering. Can you get any results? Or is it just Fubar.

I can't seem to get anything good, no specs and more. I hope it's not permanent.

The main thing I check is engine hours and to work out if it's a charter or owner version pretty much.

Talked to Brent Herman earlier today. Problem is with YachtCouncil server; they are still waiting for it to be fixed...

Re: Catamaran Company's New Specs Page - Ugh !

Update. They did reinstall specs tab (inoperable) for a while but now it's disappeared. They have posted this on their "Contact us" tab.

Due to circumstances beyond our control, we are not able to provide immediate access to the Full Specifications of our listings. We hope to have this corrected in a matter of days but the issue is with an outside supplier of our data, it is not internal. In the interim a broker will send you a PDF with the full specifications of this and any other vessel you might require. We apologize for any inconvenience we may have caused you.

Looks like it's all fixed now - a bit different in the way it displays the specs, but at least it's working!

Nope!! Not quite fully fixed. It doesn't accept my old registration so I needed to re-register. The problem is after you fill out the form, you cannot scroll down far enough to hit the send button.

Make sure you are scrolling the down arrow on the far right of your screen. It works for me. I had to re-register also. Now you can access the specs although some are in Word and others are not (I think). But there isn't pics or video tab yet as there used to be. So some of the boats are listed with only one pic. The others have low-res pics with the specs page that you can't blow up. The site still needs work. I was accessing there boats through yachtworld and everything seems to work as it used to. Are these IT guys really worth their money? At least 3 weeks and they can't fix it. Bulls**t. BOB

Go directly to the source here: www.yachtcouncil.com

Seems to be the same content but displayed differently - YC is the master content by the looks of it.
