Re: Best Reviews on YouTube.
Ruby Rose just evaluated the SW 1260 that they have been chartering. They don't like the low ceiling in the berth or the sideways facing nav station. They like the large front opening windows and the trifold door. Yup they are getting a new Seawind but I think the review is honest. We already knew the 1260 is a good f**kin boat anyway.

Of course their review is honest.
If you believe that, I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell to you.
Just a couple of questions; did they fully disclose their deal with the boat maker and are they paying for the vessel you say they have been chartering (did they actually state it either way)?

Agreed.
We are not looking to by a catamaran but we watched their reviews, and for the most part, agreed with what they said. There were a few things we would have ranked differently but not many and not by much.
They had a list of requirements that they wanted in the boat and things they did not. Either a boat had the requirement or it did not. Can't really lie about meeting the list or not.
They have the best reviews on catamarans that I have seen.
Later,
Dan

I'm sure they get some kind of deal on their new boat and wouldn't be surprised if they got a deal on the 1260 charters. But I still think that was a good review. What was wrong with it?

Re: Best Reviews on YouTube.
I am wondering if they bought the 1260 to live on until the new one is built. Not a bad idea if you get a deal on it. IE they bought it knowing they can sell it in a year and only have a 10k differential from bought and sold prices. Maybe even got a deal where a buyer backed out at the last min and the factory said here take this one for now.

It is completely disingenuous and unethical to accept compensation to review a product and not disclose that fact. It is also extremely dishonest to slag products of competitors without disclosing who was paying you at the time the "reviews" were released.
It should be against the terms of service of the platforms who host those videos but that is an entirely different kettle of fish.
These e-beggars will resort to just about anything to get somebody else to pay for their lifestyles.

Re: Best Reviews on YouTube.
So, to be clear you found nothing wrong with the review of the 1260?

To be clear, I only watched their original review of that boat from way back as well as their "reviews" of the other cats. As far as I recall, there were no lies about that specific boat in the review.
I have not and will not watch(ed) any other "sailing" related videos since then.

Hilarious!!! The competence of this post reflects the "quality" of "internet reviews" very well...

They did not buy the 1260 they have been living on. I believe it is a charter boat.

Re: Best Reviews on YouTube.
Myself, I would take any "review" on YouTube with a grain of salt. Let me know if you ever see a review that says, "the boat is crap". We all know there are lots of them but, you won't see that on YouTube.
