Best Location to Buy a Cat?

I've narrowed down the list to just a few cats. There are plenty of cats in my price range that meet my requirements. It is surprising how few monos there are in the under 40' range that satisfy my list of must-haves, even if you take speed out of the equation.
I am sure that where I live is a bad place to outfit a boat, period. You can get some epoxy resin or maybe some over priced line, but that's about it around here. All the marine stores are gone now with the decline in commercial fishing. If I find a good boat somewhere else I'd like to be able to haul it, buy parts and equipment, repair and upgrade, and set off towards the Caribbean for starters.
Where are there a lot of cats at not Australian prices, good parts availability, good boatyards at fair prices, skilled labor if necessary within a couple 3-4 weeks sail of someplace warm?
I've searched but haven't found much mention of any rich buying grounds.

Ft. Lauderdale is a good place. Check out www.justcatamarans.net and look at their listing.
