Re: Author needing sailing catamaran details

Why would it have to plausible, let alone realistic? Ian Fleming never let facts get in the way of a good yarn. Neither did Farley Mowat - locally known as "Hardly Knowit".

Write away! It'll be a wonderful educational experience. And in these days of HolyMotherNet, there is always "vanity publishing"

Well, while I agree with you, the OP specifically states he likes credibility in his books and asked for help with that, hence the shower of "it won't work" posts. It doesn't have to stop him inventing a story, it just gives him some parameters to work within, or outside as he chooses.

Re: Author needing sailing catamaran details

Maybe the OPs newbies could hook up with a colorful character who also happened to be an experienced captain...plenty of those around. He could aide in their escape, make it more realistic, and add some color...sorta like a Captain Ron. [emoji6]
