We have been posting
threads trying to get more sailing experience alongside catamarans. Alas the response from the Cruiser Forum has been disappointing! Hence this direct appeal. I deduce from reading various posts that you are owner /sailors of an FP Athena! If this is not so please disregard this post.
However, If this is true can a ask some questions of you?
We are a professional couple who are three and half years into our five year plan to sell up and sail off eventually to the Med.!
He: Has ICC
, thousands of seamiles, hundreds of night hours, plenty of skippering experience good sailor/navigator/cook. Good sense of humour and fits in with anyone.
She:has some monohull
experience. RYA Competent Crew taken an passed summer 2014. Again, good sense of humour and fits in/very practical. Just started sailing and will be doing RYA Dayskipper theory in Winter 2015.
We have sailed with catamaran
charter/RYA sea school
in 2014 and in 2015 plan to sail again twice with a couple we have become friendly with, who run a catamaran charter
business. This is aboard a Broadblue
435 (not our target cat!), this will be limited to a weekend July 2015 and another ten days in August 2015.
In 2016 we would love to spend at least two weeks in 2016 alongside a cruising people who are long term cruisers or better still live aboards! Later in same year we plan to bareboat charter
with friends a Catamaran in either Greece
I would ask if you would consider in late spring 2016 hosting us for two weeks wherever you are? We could negotiate a budget
contribution for our food
and berthing costs and also picking your brains as far as your methods of catamaran cruising/liveaboard .
Regards Chris & Catharine
