No disrespect intended… heck this thread is so epic it brought me out of lurking for the past three years. From Phil’s 12k posts I have come to respect the man as a sailor. Even though I don’t know him I have been keeping him in my prayers for this entire trip. I just wish I would have never seen that picture of him in a banana hammock. *shiver*

It would be interesting to find out from “spot” how many pages views and refreshes his track has had I know I find myself checking it multiple times a day. I bet it’s been one of spot’s most viewed tracks in the past month. They should sponsor him look at all the free advertising they are getting!

Re: Atlantic Delivery

Atoll, I'm sure that Mr. Boatman really appreciates all the assistance that you have managed to organize....it's sure nice to know there's people out there like you that can react and accomplish what you have...."you're the Man" Atoll.
When I kick loose across the Pacific shortly, I'll have to make sure that I have a Spot 3 and link it to this site so I can have back up....just in case.....;-)
I'll be single Handling tho'....
Once again, good work Atoll.

Re: Atlantic Delivery

sent email to the owners hopefully they will contact me soon then, get something in motion, hopefully by tommorow he will be closer......today he went backwards 4 miles over the last 24.

a very calm patch of weather coming up over the next few days, then easterlies,so potentially he could still be drifting out there till mid next week or worse.

jp has offered to tow him in ,would take him about 24 hour to get there and back if phil gets another 40-50 miles till we have arranged things.

Re: Need captain for lagoon 440 delivery. Miami to Europe!
Well, good luck, and I really mean that. How much diesel are you bringing? Any chance you can get a bladder tank and strap it into the cockpit somewhere? I don't know that much about this crossing ocean stuff but I'd think to be safe you are going to have to be fairly far south. Let us know when you leave so we can watch the weather. Also, know for sure that if you are lost at sea I'll be the first one to post "I told him it was crazy to go in February" on the Cruisers Forum

Re: Atlantic Delivery

Can someone start a poll to guess what the combination of problems resulted from? I think we have a few more days to get it narrowed down.

Ya know, this Boatman dude seems like a great sailor, fun drinker, and humorist, but he sure isn't the luckiest with deliveries is he!

Palarran,
Now you can get a job at the Psychic Hotline.

We have no idea what the cause is my guess is it has nothing to do with the “time of year” and more to do with maintenance on a vessel that just changed hands. don't sprain a wrist patting yourself on the back just yet.

Atoll,
Please proceed with patting yourself on the back! You might have just saved him a boring week

Go Boatie!

::thumbs:: atoll.

Always a nice feeling to be able to assist in a way without being asked. And that's a biggie.

Been reading this thread since the beginning. I really have enjoyed it with spot and the commentary.

Just wondering around with no destionation to be had.
