Re: Atlantic Delivery

If you go to google maps and zoom in very closely to the route ahead of him, you will see small objects floating at about 1/2 nm intervals. It took me a while to realize it is a sort of bread crumb trail. Someone who passaged ahead of him left bottles of beer to follow. The wind, waves and current have caused them to disburse in a sinuous path.

Re: Atlantic Delivery

30 knot winds on a broad reach with 5' seas on his port quarter. Looks like he is making 7+ knots. Things could be much worse.

There is a ski movie from the late 80's, maybe early 90's called "Hot Dog".

In one scene the french skier said that you can ski on this side or on that side but stay out of the middle!

The American responded with... Well Rudy, you can kiss my ass; not on this side and not on that side but right here in the middle!!!

Hehehe......Boatman has told the gods to kiss his...lol.

All great stuff here Lassies and Lads, a great story in a story is unfolding here.

Yes. I can't get the BBC or the NY Times online, and worse yet, I can't stream my favorite TV show, The Agents of SHIELD.

On the bright side, they also block facebook.

Re: Atlantic Delivery

As of about 4 hours ago, 1041z this morning, Tuesday 11 March 2014, his position was:
36* 19' N x 34* 18' W

Horta still bears 62*T, now at a distance of about 299nm...

Current winds seem to be mostly South @ 20-25kts.

Forecast for the next 2 days and up to 500 miles east of his current position, is also Southerly winds but a bit lighter and even lighter as you move east...
And, then as you get east of 20*W, winds are predicted to be easterly (East and ENE) and very light...

So, it looks as if he's stopping in Horta, and filling up with both beer and fuel...

Fair winds Phil!

John
