Yes as predicted he went searching for those South winds after being headed. He definitely has some form of weather reporting.

Should get a good run east for a few days. Then it gets tricky as he'll have to climb north

I may be wrong, he may be planning a Movie!
Its also possible a passing ship said 'where the hell do you think you're going' about 3 minutes before he turned South

my guess is if he is still heading south tommorow he will stop in st martin for a week or so.

that is for gen 3.
my gen 1 was cheaper.
didnt he say he had some kind of sat fone thing before he left..i do not remember, but i know weather is primary for him .... he is a sailor...
I told Phil that Spot was going to squeeze him like a turnip, that's their business model... BUT... I don't care what it cost.... The amusement he is going to get from reading the thread will be worth 10x what he paid!!!

Different ways to look at it. If a delivery captain has to have a complete mobile navigation/communication package that he brings with him he could charge more.

I am sure the insurance company and the manufacture of Alpha 42 “Be Good Too” wish they have a spot device on board to locate and salvage.

Re: Atlantic Delivery

hahaha
everyone sees different things when looking at weather charts and maps..lol....boaty checks passage weather before leaving, as i understand...or sailflow....one of those...and the thing i saw and what we see now.. boaty headed around something.,...yáll shoulda looked on passage weather when he left.....passage is the only one i have found to actually be almost accurate in the systems and their movements, stormwise for 5 days.......my gurus for weather anymore are storm 2k, passage and eeb mike, which is specific to my area, manzanillo to guaymas
storm 2k is awesomest thing i ever saw for furycames and horrific stormages...

Re: Atlantic Delivery

I can't imagine why Phil would even think about heading to SXM. That would add at least two weeks to the crossing.

I'm seconding all who believe he has weather routing of some sort. If not, he's both incredibly lucky and brilliant. I'd give him one, but both ?

He left a broken heart at the Backstreet Pub here in Beaufort. And said gal has a tall, skinny, rather unattractive child. Da spittin' image!

Mom only dates other gals now.

She told me "Phil" was short for philanderer.

Ya can't make this stuff up!

Jus' sayin.
