I wonder if that's a correct analysis. Taking decisions on weather 5. -6 days out is very difficult. Nor given the size of that disturbance will he miss it.

It's too early to say what his intentions are.

Bery true. My bet is that he's observing in the zone he's in and will take it from there. I'm a bit baffled by his track these last couple of hours though.

I'd say, if he has weather forecasting on board , he's decided to keep a bit south to avoid the nasties To the N-nW of him, tomorrow/ Monday. Or he could just be experiencing bigger beam seas and is adjusting to a more comfortable attitude. Hard to say really

my guess is he is "running off" with the stronger winds,and praying like fuk the auto pilot does not pack up.

hand steering will turn the trip into an ordeal very quickly.....................

I just looked at the SPOT track. Whether zoomed in or out I dint see any circling. It looks to me he was getting headed and fell off a bit. Or by pointing a bit off it's a nicer ride on the swell.

I don't know what Boatie's plan is and I don't know what crew he has but what I do know is how he sails and how he thinks (well, most of the time ).

When he takes on a delivery job, his mission is to get the boat from point A to point B without damage, with minimal reasonable cost to the owner and in a suitable time frame (but not necessarily the fastest). When he has the con, He makes the decisions that affects the above requirements, not the owner - whether or board or not.

He does not push the boat and often sails well reefed in preference to getting maximum boat speed (unless fleeing from danger or shonky owners ).

He doesn't trust crew unless they have really proved themselves to be very capable. He has posted before about how much harder having crew is compared to single handing.

So my guess he will stay away from ports unless absolutely necessary to meet his prime objectives, he will sail conservative manner (ie slowly) and watch the weather as much as possible.

And if his spot doesn't move much for a few hours, he is having a kip with his crew keeping a lookout - if he doesn't trust 'em enough to handle the boat safely .
