Sit back and enjoy Boatys Parade. Mix yourself a tasty drink and watch the Spot 3 blip away from the comfort of your keyboard.

Boaty will make us proud, as we sit here as arm chair keyboard captains.

This is much better than watching Vladimir Putin get pissed at his Olympic hockey team.

Re: Atlantic delivery

I've never been really good at reading the weather patterns but running a grib for the next 5 days looks pretty good until Monday at 1800 hours. At that point the winds turn northerly and build to 20 knots depending on Phil's location. Of course, maybe this will be good for him as he can then stay low, south of Bermuda.

Is there a way you can take Cotemar's projected route and overlay it with a grib?

Re: Atlantic delivery

this could all end in tears!
but hopefully if he stays around 30-35 north he wont get his arse kicked too badly!

this time last year the azores and the canary islands had monster storms pass over them.

Given the crap that been constantly flowing over us here, boatie needs to stay as south as he can without getting headwinds.

Very dodgy time to be closing Northern Europe

But, if you look at the NWS charts I posted earlier, and look at the area around Bermuda, you'll see (this morning's) forecast for Monday 24 February.... (SSW-SW @20kts, with seas about 6' - 8'...)
Pretty nice weather!! (daytime air temps in the low 70's F, south of the front)

And, here is the nearer term / en route forecast (for Saturday)...

And the 96 hr and 48 hr surface charts....

I hope this helps....

Re: Atlantic delivery

Na, I don’t think you’d want to make those posts. And besides this is Boaty’s thread.

I bet Boaty goes out on the fore deck every morning to practice his spinning balls meditation routine.
