The date / time here is probably the date/time of the alert...
The position does correlate to where he was Tues morning....

I was thinking the same thing. Now the rule of simplicity would suggest one event is causing all of the problems. The question is what likely event could cause loss of power, dead engines, and slow head way?

My guess would be props got fouled with a net or some sort of debris, which took out the engines and prevented him from charging the batteries. And is also causing excessive drag slowing him down. At least that is the only thing I can come up with that would cause all of those things.

Anyone have a more educated/experienced guess they would like to wager?

I'm thinking a combination of problems. Aren't here 2 engines? So both engines, electrical power, and sails.
