Yea.... Our point exactly to your first Spot inquiry thread.... They work... They do the job as advertised .... But the cost... I think we could even be happy with the "real cost" stated up front.... But Nooooooo.... They exact their pound of flesh by surprise assault to the wallet....

Will enjoy checking the tracking page... Thanks for sharing!

Good luck Bud....

Does this mean you haven't left yet? Previously you said you were leaving today (Wed). Not trying to push, just wondering.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the weather. Is it bad form to do so? Like always I watch the wx well before a big trip. Only now it's taking a trip vicariously. Looks like you'll be taking it on the nose until well away from the coast. Point too high and you might get squeezed by that cold front. Look for squally wx to be following you offshore. And behind that (to the west) is yet another strong front, organizing and winding up for the pitch. IOW, you shoulda left Sunday. Once clear of the banks you should have great flow pushing you all the way.

Re: Atlantic delivery

I never get over the irony of the days of frenetic activity leading up to starting a trip then when you actually shove off it's so casual as you step off the dock and decide, might as well go now. It's anticlimactic.

So many times are you on and off the boat going to and fro for this or that to prepare for the trip. Then, one of those times of stepping onto the boat you...just go.

Either he's left the spot in the back of a taxi or he's on a pub crawl

Or, in the midst of said pub crawl he only thinks he left said SPOT in back of said taxi and he's trying to track it down. He sees he's close but it hasn't yet occurred to him that he check his pockets.

Or, I thought press gangs went out of style. Have ye ever woken from a drunken stupor only to find you're out of sight of land?

Re: Atlantic delivery

Hmm we are just passing Haulover and I don't see any other sails up. An awful lot of big motor yachts out making some nice mega wakes

Re: Atlantic delivery

Quiet day. Not sure which is more entertaining watching Boatie's spot trail or Olympic curling. Oh well, hockey will be on soon.

Re: Atlantic delivery

So should we play this like the super bowl and start betting on different aspects of his trip? Each bet placed is $5 and the winnings are split against ties.

At what latitude does he change direction and head east?

Does he stop in Bermuda and if so for how long?

How long does the overall trip take?

Does he stop in the Azores, and if so for how long?

Does he run out of beer?

What will his average S.O.G. be?

What will be his most amount of miles covered in one day be?

C'mon if we're going to be watching a blip on a screen we may as well put some action on it
