Thanks to all the well wishers..
Am sitting in Publix on their net and only have 1/2 hours so sorry for just 'Group Hugz'
Well the boats on New River just S of the pink bridge (Andrews..?)... the Riverwalk to port as you go upstream.
Ran into some S Africans Sat night and got totally smashed on IPA.. my crew was not impressed with my clumsy coffee making and crashing about.. Sunday was a groggy hike up here and a stagger back with a load of stores.. still got the meat and bread and Cokes/water to do but that's for 2moro..
Today its find a W Marine store and get a Spot3.. and somewhere that sells duvets.. no bedding and its cold at night.
Do not think I'm gonna enjoy that exposed bridgedeck con.. fine for bumming round the islands but not nice in an Atlantic gale..
Anyway.. am enjoying myself so far.. nice folks.. may be heading out Wens.. see how things progress.. still a bit to sort out..
Catch you all later..

Re: Atalantic delivery

Ohh....

And please .... please... please.... Do not wander into a Target or the like and ask for a duvet... A salty old guy with IPA breath asking for this is likely to be taken for a homeless pedo.... duvets are sold at fancy stores here... i.e Nordstroms (=Harrods) ... You are looking for a bed comforter....

Go smooth and agree with zee zee on rope, as long as its not pink.

You'll be fine. I've known several Lagoon 440 owners and they've all told me how wonderful the raised helm is, so it must be true. Although, come to think of it, the crewmembers who didn't have a financial interest in the boat did not seem to think it was quite so wonderful

Watch out for sea snakes. They tend at night to climb up the back stairs of lagoons to keep warm - this about around:

Lat: 33 8' 15"
Long: -41 2 41

While I sympathize with your situation I can't help being reminded of a conversation some years ago.

Slightly more than fifty years ago I left Scotland at age 11. I had two brothers who were already in the british army. Pretty much a tradition among Scotsmen for centuries.
Years later I was a volunteer in the US army and bitching to my brother, still in the british army, getting his ass shot off in Maysia.
His comment to me was.
You took the shilling! Do the job.

For those of you unfamiliar with the term.

Fair winds, Boatie. You should be able to locate serviceable long thermal underwear to help keep you warm in those cold Atlantic gales.

Re: Atlantic delivery

Open cockpit? A guy I knew who did deliveries used to wear a wet suit and motorcycle helmet in gales.

Re: Atlantic delivery

Don't get a nose bleed way up in that flybridge. . .
I wonder if it is one of the L440s we looked at in Ft Lauderdale a few months ago. It is within the bounds of propriety to ask the name of the boat you will be delivering?
