Astrea 42 2020 Windlass - Astrea owners?

Recently we chartered a brand new Astrea 42 from DYC in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

The last day, we couldn't get the windlass to lower the anchor. The capstan would not release, either from the control at the helm (the up and down arrow gauge with chain counter), or from the handheld control in the anchor locker.

When we returned to stateside, we looked up the manual for the Lewmar windlass. It looks like there is a pawl that locks into the capstan, preventing it from moving.

Does this pawl need to be released electronically? I don't remember seeing a control at the helm or on the handheld.

The guys at the dock took the capstan apart and were able to manually release the pawl from the inboard side of the capstan.
