Can anyone who isn't French have a guess? (without using the website mentioned earlier!) I found out later that they did actually build a cat called the Kronos so my question does have some relevance!

As to the pronunciation of Outreamer, the way you suggest is how I pronounce it, but that would not be how the French would pronounce it, so I'm still open for other's inputs.

I am also looking at the Cantana (how is that pronounced in French), found a nice one on the Internet that is 11 years old, original owner.

Every single handed bachelor needs an on board "man cave". I can just picture (2) flat screens, computer, and office equipment in this hull....

The name of this Cantana is Radio Flyer, which suits me because even though my last boat didn't have anything special going for it, it always had the strongest HF signal...

You know me and Nav stations, I want a chart table that can handle a chart....

ONLY ONE N in Catana

that looks like the day sail charter boat out of St Thomas

it is French name pronounced ou-tre-mer it translates as overseas or outer sea

I know as I am somewhat biased... having Wineriges little sister a 40/43.. The original Gerrard Danson designs were true sailers boats.. A 50 foot Outremer has abut the same space as a 45 ft box like a Lagoon or FP.. But if you are sailing an Outremeer light you will get used to the back, beam, bow views of most other cats.. The literally go like sports cars!! Check out a number of clips on Utube look for "Ma Bette"
Windward performance is fantastic due to having deep daggerboards... Off the wind it is awesome..

The construction is somewhat like a brick outhouse.. The front and back beams are really solid and they have about 10 bulkheads through the length of the hull..

Interestingly the older boats beat the brand new designs at the annual builders regatta held in La Grande Motte..

I have been on Winergie several times and it has the interior space equivalent to a Lagoon 38. Maybe. The L38 might be a bit larger. However, this is how a performance boat should be.

This is probably true for all production boats. I would bet the older Lagoons, FP's, Catana's, etc outperform the newer versions of the same length.

Winergie is under contract. Come clean Deckofficer. Is she going to be yours?
