Any fast cats for charter?

My top four cats to buy are Freydis 46/49, Outremer 45-55, Cantana 45+,and Schonning. Are any of these boats available for charter? I would like to spend 2-3 weeks on a boat before I buy. I am not going to buy a boat this year so I have some time to charter and try a boat. Any leads?

You should be able to go to each dealer's web site and most will list lase or rental locations.

Dream Yacht Charters ( Sail the PlacesYou've Only Dreamed Of | Dream Yacht Charters | Charter boats, cruises, catamaran rental, by the cabin charters – Caribbean, Indian Ocean, Asia, Pacific, Mediterranean, Bahamas – Cuba, Madagascar, Thailand, Tahiti ) have a number of Catanas for charter in the Caribbean. You'll need to look pretty hard to find any of the others on your list.

Outremer 5X #1 is for charter in the Med. Despite the dodgy looking IP address website, this is actually their charter website.

Location Plaisance Outremer 5x

Quick google-** and I also found a 49 for charter:

AYB Catamarans - Vente de catamarans neufs et occasion - Location de catamarans - LOCATION OUTREMER 49

No affiliation - purely google-**

Re: Any fast cats for charter?

Not likely you'll find a Freydis or Schonning, but Antillies-sail.com in Guadeloupe has an Outremer 49. Try this link:
Location catamaran Guadeloupe 8/10 personnes : location catamaran Outremer 49

They responded to me with a quote very quickly, be sure and check English in the response form unless your French is better than mine. The site is also in French.

I tried to see this at the dock when I chartered a Catana from Dream Yachts this past July, in the same harbor, but it was out on charter.

It might be possible to do them back to back, DYC has a number of Catana 47s in Guadeloupe. Excellent operation, and Guadeloupe is also a good place for "test driving", which is what I was doing.

Re: Any fast cats for charter?

thanks for all the leads. I should have mentioned that I am looking to buy an older boat like a Catana 471 or Outremer 50 std or light. So the newer boats don't hold so much interest.

Re: Any fast cats for charter?

I am similarly interested in chartering a fast cat this year to see how they feel so I thought I would resurrect this thread with old (broken) links.

Something in the Outremer, TS, Schionning, Le Rouge category.

Ideas?

Re: Any fast cats for charter?

If Catana 47 is fast enough, we have one in charter.
Cheers

We would be happy to offer a Try before you Buy Charter on our Switch 51 Performance Cat. She is a 51 footer cutter rigged with her carbon fiber daggerboards she points extremely well. A true sailing cat. If you are interested please have a look at the ad I just posted in the For Sale section on this forum. We are currently in the Bahamas for easy fly in and out of Georgetown GGT.
