Allegra of Sydney?

So I'm enjoying a glass of this evening when I see what looks like a real BIG cat slowly coming down the channel. Looked to be 60 foot plus. Certainly one of the biggest boats in this harbor. I had a little gam with the crew and mentioned there is very little anchorage available in the harbor and especially for such a big boat. I also cautioned them about the channel they were about to anchor in. I let them know they may find space a little further down the channel. Looks like they settled in for the evening not sure if they are at anchor or picked up a mooring. But, I let them know the currents can be weird at some changes of the tide cycle and to watch their swing. Anyway I was wondering if anyone knew anything about this cat? The name sounded familiar but, could not find much info on google. I hope to get a better look in the morning if they don't leave before I wake up.

Re: Allegra of Sydney?

Update: Poked my head out of the hatch at 5:30 am and they were already heading out of the harbor. Too bad I would have liked to get a better look. Cabin looked huge and deck seemed big enough to play tennis on. But, I then again I was having some some wine at the time.

I dont know it, but a check of the Australian Shipping Register offers a few - very few - extra details, It is an 18.9 metre Cat, home port of Sydney (well no surprise there) and it was launched in 2012. Where are you at the moment? Marine Traffic has her last recorded at Fort Lauderdale for a port and in Long Island Sound for track? Fair way between those two!

Yeah, but it's a really fast boat.

Thanks for the info Factor. I thought she would have been bigger than 18.9 meters but, it was dark when she entered. Still a big boat for this place. I'm up on Long Island Sound and I got her name looking at my AIS so she was transmitting her signal. At first I thought she was settled in but, just before I turned in I saw they were re anchoring. It was entertaining watching the LED flashlights on her deck. Crew were certainly getting their exercise last night running back an forth. Would have liked to see her in daylight. Never saw a cat with bow thrusters before either. They certainly were using them last night.
