The Jaguar would be a 36 footer. Have you considered the Lagoon 380 or 410?

Without a doubt, the Lavezzi.

Admiral 38 , Leopard 40 , Jaguar 40 or Pajot Lavezzi 40

Size = Close to the largest externally
Sailing Performance = Excellent (based on weight etc)
Construction = FRP and not balsa
Cost = Lowest cost on used market except perhaps compared to Jaguar

Re: Admiral 38 , Leopard 40 , Jaguar 40 or Pajot Lavezzi 40

I have completed several coastal passages on a Lavezzi & have been very pleased by its performance. I haven't sailed on the others but have sailed a Leopard 47 which I liked as well.

Here is a clip from one of my Lavezzi passages in case you haven't seen it.

Here is the Leopard 47 clip as well.

If you find a Lavezzi keep a lookout for hull osmosis as they had an issue with quite a few of them. I really wish they would put this model back into production as I like it so much better than the later model FP's. The Lavezzi has a great layout especially in the cockpit and the rear walkway near the davits is excellent so you don't need to walk over the lounges for activities like fishing while underway, swimming and using the BBQ while at anchor.

Thanks for sharing these. In particular I enjoyed seeing how much bridge clearance there was and if there was a lot of banging with such high? waves.

One thing I think I noticed and I'm not a fan of is, it looked like you stepped down into the main living area from outside. If water gets in that area, it's bound to just wash on down. Also a slipping hazard?

What were your thoughts on going from inside-to-outside and vice versa?

Re: Admiral 38 , Leopard 40 , Jaguar 40 or Pajot Lavezzi 40

The step down area that you notice is not an issue at all, in fact it is a drain to collect any significant water that may come into the cockpit (not that we have ever had any while at sea) and drain it under the bridgedeck.

Slipping is not an issue either & you could always put a rubber backed mat or towel inside the door if you wanted. Of course you could always close the sliding glass door in large seas as well. The cockpit is one of my favourite design features on this boat with its full width rear deck. So much better than an enclosed cockpit style of say a Lagoon 38.

It would also be very easy to fit a track in the cockpit opening out to the back deck so you could just drop in a washboard if you ever encountered large following seas as an added safeguard. There are other Lavezzi clips on my YouTube channel which has the same name as my CF name if you haven't already seen them.
