Re: A Path to Multihulls
How to use the search function. Seems there is this exact post every weeks. Seems like the replies are all the same. Why do we need yet another thread???

what is the suitable etiquette here, chris? are you expecting a formal apology or something? also instead of seems like, seems as if could've been much more appropriate, don't you think? maybe the reason i needed 'yet' another thread is the very same reason why you needed the extra two question marks at the end of your reply.
ps: how about week rather than weeks?
just joking, man - giving you a hard time.

Re: A Path to Multihulls
I've sailed a couple of catamaran dingies, 'actually helped a friend sail' - fun at the beginning but becomes tiring fast, didn't enjoy it that much. I don't know how much help that experience can provide you other than giving you some sailing experience.
I know a gal who attended a series of sailing classes and chartered catamarans a few times with her family. She bought a Gemini Legacy as her first sailboat, and lives on board full time nowadays. She has had no issues that I know of. I'd say take a few sailing courses, charter a couple of cats, and buy a Legacy 35.

Re: A Path to Multihulls
The recommendations on this thread lead me to an implusive decision. I've decided to forget about all other ideas I've been contemplating about and do it already. I'm buying a Hobie 16. I don't know where it'll lead me, but that'll be how I'll get into multihulls...
Thanks!

Funny thing, couldn't find a Hobie in good condition around here, so going with a Sunfish - I've found two of them for dirt cheap and still appeared to be kept nice. I cannot wait any longer; weather is good, no more wasting time online asking questions. This has been a long winter, which I won't miss a bit of it.

FWIW,
Paper Tiger 14 foot, You can put up the sails and launch it off a trailer single handed,

Re: A Path to Multihulls
I had a good laugh at myself last week. No wonder those two Sunfishes were dirt cheap. One was given away for free by the time I get there, and the other will be someone else's problem, not mine.
It's getting warmer outside; I don't want to waste more time not sailing. How about a new Hobie Wave then? It's not that pricey, considering I'll probably never sell it; I will get my money out of it. I was wondering if a Hobie Wave will be good enough to teach me the ropes on my 'long' way to multihulls.

Hobie Wave? A bad choice? Has anyone here ever sailed one?

I rented a Windrider 17 a couple of times. Fast boat, even made me think to own one and graduate to a Corsair in the future. But then I learned about weta marine; I think a better choice for trimaran path.
