42-foot Schionning Arrow 1280S being built in Virginia

https://fredericksburg.com/news/loca...228096a36.html

/ “We’re more like, at the four-door Ferrari end of the spectrum,” said Ridge Turner, a King George County native and the owner and founder of Ojigwan Yachts.

Turner and his team may be the only people this side of the Atlantic Ocean doing such work. They’re taking precut pieces from an Australian company, assembling them, sort of in Ikea fashion, except there’s extensive labor involved with gluing and sanding, finishing and painting. /

I read this article and thought it might be of interest to some.

Yes, I'd be interested in finding out which company they finished building out the unfinished hulls for. Or since it's near to me to possibly visit them. Wish they'd focus on more attainable prices cats as well.

The author of the article has reported in our local rag for years and is very good about posting articles in different lifestyles. She did an article years ago about a local couple that set off on a circumnavigation.

It seems that the cost differential is likely materials based. I thought the closed cell foam sandwich was the end all be all. Now carbon fiber, dyneema, etc.
