2008 Leopard 40

Hi everyone
We are looking at buying a 2008 Leopard 40. The boat has had three lots of owners and is in reasonable condition with pretty well everything original on the boat. We would have to spend some money on her but just wanted to get some feedback on this model. Thanks

Re: 2008 Leopard 40

I just bought a 2008 L40 November, I did a lot of work to it in Ft Lauderdale and West Palm Beach... I brought it from there to Beaufort NC last week. I put new chart plotter on it but haven't upgraded much else. Most money I spent on making everything work properly.

Re: 2008 Leopard 40

The 40 of that vintage was designed by Morrelli and Melvin, whom many regard as the better of the two designers utilized by Robertson and Caine for their line of cats. It's one of the better performing condomarans of its size, is blue water capable (was likely sailed over from South Africa on its own hull), and its design was the inspiration for not only the 39, but also the 46. Best of luck with her!

Thanks John yes I have read a article which highlighted that particular boat being sailed from SA to Australia by its first owners
