1977 Skookum, Ketch rigged cutter, roller furling, Ed Monk Sr. design, built in Port Townsend, WA. Fully equipped cruiser/power troller, sailing vessel.
I don't have any better photos with me, when I get home from west Africa in May, I will post some better ones.

Steel 44' pilothouse designed by Grahame Shannon and built by SP Metalcraft in 1987 (with 2002 refit). She's covered both coasts of North America (before my time), and my own maiden voyage in 2008 was a languid 621 miles in Puget Sound, San Juans, and Gulf Islands. I'm now geeking her out with a distributed network of sensors, web server, voice interaction, and extensive comms. Mine is a Herreshoff 45 cat ketch. Designed by Halsey Herreshoff in the mid 80's and built by Cat Ketch Corporation in Honduras. Hull number 1 of 2. She's fast, easy to sail and very comfortable.

I have a 1985?/6 Celetial 48 ketch named Paramita equiped for ocean crossing.
I bought it locally and refit/fixing it since the end of 2008 in Busan, Korea because of many broken and neglected parts.
I fixed most things now with the help of neighbor sailor and hope to sail more now that the bpat parts function as intended.

Can I post a small boat alongside the yachts I've seen pictured here? I've always been a small boat owner, and charter the bigger boats. Here is my current boat, a Capri 25 that I used to race on the Chesapeake. As I've gotten older, though, I've pretty much retired from the racing circuit, and just use it for daysailing and occasional overnights.



My other current boat is a Capri 14 sailing dinghy, which is really fun to sail. Other boats I've owned are a Watkins 27 in the caribbean, and a McGregor 25 that I trailered around the east coast of the U.S. I could put all my boats together and they wouldn't come close in cost to some of the beautiful cruisers some of you have. But I've certainly enjoyed them.

Are you kidding? Small boats ROCK! I spent more time under sail in my Hobie Mirage Adventure Island (16' Sailing Yak with outriggers) than in Dionysos last year, and I bought it half way through the season.

You can sail your butt off in the harbor on a "light air" day in a small boat when the big ones are sitting in the cockpit wishing they were you. Big fun can be had in small boats.

Wow, just looked at that Hobie Mirage, what a concept! I might just force myself to get one of those.

I have had a late 70's Hunter 25' and an early 70's Coronado 35' and am currently eyeballing (with serious lust in my heart) an early 70's Hardin 40' {but I have a sneaking suspicion the Mrs. has hidden the check book}.
