hey steve...
ive been unable to find much info at all about these boats, except the 39s where intended to use a catalina 30 rig. dont know if thats even true. ive got a bare hull 39 aft cockpit im starting to put back together, if you could steer me towards an owners group or build blog id appreciate it. thanks, rob
hank mckune(yorktown yachts) didnt change his rigs much. the 39a was built in the1960s. the 39 and 39c are center cockpit models built after 1970. good luck with finding sails--you may have to measure and search by measurements.

Re: Yorktown 39
G'Day Steve,
IMO it is ALWAYS better to measure your own boat than to depend on any "standard" rig measurements. This is all the more true for older boats, and boats that were never a big production run, and more true yet for boats that were often "owner finished off".
This is especially true of mainsails, but a poorly fitting genoa is an ugly thing too!
Good luck anyway.
Cheers,
Jim

i was more or less at that point as nobody has the yankee / stay specs for my cutter rig.
it makes me sad to look at sails this dilapidated, but in the interest of accurate measurements, i dont have much choice but to unroll them and measure.
