It was by far the worst choice anyone could have made. Besides black making everything look much smaller, the shiny showed every single drip, drop and dirt speck.
That is a horrible problem for people who don't like to clean up after themselves.
I am designing an all new PIZZA PIE laminate counter top.
You can drip, dribble, or splat almost anything on it and it blends in!
Perfect for people who hate to clean up after themselves.
Originally I was thinking to market it for college dorms... but maybe sailboats too!
What do you all think? Will it sell?

Not talking about the boat. That is a Jeanneau too (a DS) and I am saying that I would prefer that upholstery color on the Jeanneau below instead of the white one.

And both have the galley on the wrong side... amazing how naval architects still get port side wrong... assuming I'm looking forward in these pictures, wondering why the companionway leads into the galley.

They also have different choices of wood so the upholstery scheme varies with the the wood color. You can have nice combinations...or odd ones if you don't know what you are doing

Boatman this one is the Jeanneau marina king, not the other one. But also king of the anchorages and since it sails very well, I would say that it will be at least a Prince in what regards passage making.

I am not sure I understand how these very selective standards of niceness work. It is apparently okay to call the old boat interiors (which many forum members own and love) "cave pubs," "basement pubs," "ugly," "depressing," and any number of other intentionally derogative terms.........but everyone should refrain from saying "Ikea interiors," because it implies cheapness which might hurt somebody's little feelings who owns this style of boat? (By the way.....I own some Ikea furniture and it has served us well for a decade.)

Respect and consideration for the variety of preferences and choices of members of the forum goes both ways. Whenever anyone makes a subjective negative comment about a particlular make or type of boat, chances are it is going straight to the heart of a number of forum members who own this type of boat. I have never understood this tendancy for so many threads to devolve into the "my boat is better than your boat," or even worse, the "that boat sucks and anyone who owns one either has no taste or has no money or both" pissing matches.

I absoltely love to hear people talk about all the great qualities of thier boat, no matter what kind of boat it is, because it truly makes me happy to know there are happy sailors out there enjoying thier life. And they should know better that anyone else whether thier boat meets thier needs. And sometimes I can't resist waxing romantic about my own boat. Discussing objective data or qualities about one boat versus another is great. There are things to be learned from that kind of discourse. But the subjective insults of each other's boats just makes this forum a little less friendly place.

Everyone knows Ikea so it's shorthand for simple modernist interiors... Long before it was retailed as Ikea... it was danish modern and then came Italian modern and so on. But these are branded and retailed and have not entered the lexicon of the average John Doe.

Before there was the Ikea brand many people felt the modern sleek interiors lacked warmth... softness, curves and the look of hand crafting... When you look at slab stuff you see no craft nor imagine an joiner working his wonders... it looks like it came off a C&C machine or made by a robot.
