Where Would you Look?

My brother and I took that route in our Westsail 32. Hurricane season ends around the beginning of November. We left then, and took a leisurely 3 weeks to get to Miami, Florida, with day sails and a few overnight passages and some offshore work. It starts to get cold around then, so sometimes one wants to go faster! We spent several delightful weeks going through the Bahamas - we were in Crooked Island for a lovely out island Christmas.

I vote florida to annapolis... basically eastern seaboard. Plenty of boats. If you need a bargain... which it sounds like you do... keep track of a list of boats you might be interested in... keep track of their near selling price (last price shown after time and reductions)... and keep track of the ones that havent sold and the sellers are getting hungry. Be prepared to jump on the one for you when you see it AFTER you are very familiar with the market etc.... all of the above shold reduce your wasted money and time.

Did the same thing a year ago .Took a bike ride to Mass, Looked at 20 boats en route back to Fl. Annapolis had the largest number to look at and all were not listed. Purchased a boat not on my short list in Annapolis dead of winter prices come down. You never know to you make an offer. Then head south quick to warm weather
