Where to find boats in the Canaries?

Hi all!

Me and my GF will be visiting the canaries during the holidays, of course we would like to get some good boat-watching going. We are looking to purchase a cheapo (pocket-)cruiser this summer and would like to use this holiday to do some pre-recon of what types of boats are available.

I have heard that deals can sometimes be found on well equipped vessles ready /almost ready for the atlantic crossing. However, I am unsure where to look. We have not decided if we are going to Gran Canaria or Tenerife, but leaning towards GC.

We are mainly looking for a 28-33ft long keeled cruiser. Being ready/equipped and in a decent condition is a priority, but we are not looking for crazy comforts. Our plan is mainly to cruise the Med and then take her home to Sweden via the canals. So a shallow draft and decent engine is a must.

Are there any other places to look, except for the Las Palmas marina? Any tips etc. are greatly appreciated!

TL;DR: Where in the canaries should me and my gf go look for "cheap" cruisers?

I am sat here in our boat here in Gran Canaria now and although there can be some boats for sale there are not a huge amount and the main yacht broker for the islands is :
https://canaryachtbrokers.com/

I am in no way affiliated with this but know that the boats I have seen for sale tend to have that companies boards up.

Re: Where to find boats in the Canaries?

hello

living and sailing in canarias for 20 years best spots to find this kind of boat :

Las Palmas marina/ Gran Canaria and Arrecife marina / Lanzarote

few brokers in Canarias and they don't do business with 28/22ft sailboats so you have to find it on your own,

check

Nor will you find many long keelers either

The canaries isn’t really a good place to boat hunt.
