Where to buy the boat?

Hello dear sailors!
I want in the end of this year to buy a small monohull 32 feet and start to live off grid and to sail around the Carribbean and maybe even farther!
My question is where to buy the boat?? I thought of buying it in Panama or guatemalla because its wheres dreams go dies for some people after they prepaired the boats for long cruises or to buy it in cheasapeak bay where is the boats sitting in sweet water their most time and prepair it and go?

If ill buy the boat in panama/guatemala is it easy to fix stuff there in the carribbean side?

I know its easy to get stuff in the US... Because... America.

Panama and Guatemala are downwind of everywhere else. But if you dont want to go to the Eastern Caribbean then by all means buy one there!

South Florida is the place where the largest selection is available. From there, it’s easier to outfit and upgrade any boat. It’s also obviously in the middle of your areas of interest.

Thank you for the answers, im looking to buy one around 20-30k. And actually my plan is to sail east through the islands, is it possible to sail from panama or guatemala?? And what are the best times to buy it in this areas?

And another question, would you recommend to buy a sailboat in Colombia??

Well one advantage with Columbia is its easier to get East than from Panama..

Maybe could knock this down in price...

Yes possible, but you would be headed against the prevailing winds to navigate towards the eastern Caribbean.

As the previous post indicated Panama is downwind of everything.
