We aim to purchase a boat that will be bluewater capable, but also cosy and nice/modern design that feels good to live on. It should be capable of handling 10-15 years of light cruising with 1 or 2 circumnavigations. Ideally as a family we would consider something in the 54-58ft range to have enough space and comfort... but we are limited with a budget of between €500k (easy) to €750k (still doable) up to possibly €1M (getting into uncomfortable territory).
This budget takes out the Hallberg-Rassy 57 out of the equation as this one is closer to €2M. Bavaria C57, Oceanis Yacht 54 and similar are nicely within the budget, but but not sure if these are really sturdy and solid enough for circumnavigation?

Any help in pointing us in the right direction would be highly appreciated!!
Buy a swan. Perfect for your planned trip. Very stable a safe. Great sea boat. Mine has been around the globe 1.5 times

If it is that important to you, then here is a list…
To access the list just type “sailboat loses keel” into your search engine.

Makes for lots and lots of interesting reading.

You can’t have a single thread in here (the MONOHULL forum) without some cat guy coming in and blathering about cats.

What sailboat for family circumnavigation in €500k-€1M range

Or search “Hallberg Rassy sinks”

A few hits there too

Of course a sinking or two damms the whole series production yacht line produced in the 100s

Even as a fan of catamarans, I can truly appreciate a beautiful mono. The first 2 are stunning. Love looking at boat porn!

Googled the HR’s. Had never heard of them previously. Look absolutely stunning.

Second one is steel , way too much maintenance

Koopmans make a nice yacht. Not a fan of hydraulic furling , had one on a delivery , bugger to repair. Much easier to fix electric systems.

I still maintain steel boats are the best sea boats.
