What Boat Is This?

Hint: It is NOT a Hunter 31.
Built in Canada, single cylinder diesel, early 80s.
About 30 feet long..Teak decks. (Painted over)

Anybody know the make and model..?

If you could get the first 3 letters of the HIN you could find out for sure. Weird wheel location, don't recall seeing one that far forward. wonder if that is after market?

Ya have not seen nothing yet:

This little boat has a steering station on the inside, forward of the main cabin and just aft of the V-berth with a hydraulic steering set-up and a belt driven auto pilot, just to Port if the center line..The idea I guess, is to stand there with yer head up the hatch opening steering with yer left hand.

Another possibility: Grampian Classic 31. I'm quite sure that they didn't come with the inside helm though.

Yeah, I checked out the Grampian site. Will go back and get more pics and details of the boat to find out for sure. (HIN #)

It looks a lot like a Grampian classic 31, I don't believe there were any made in the 80's though. They were origionally sold, if memory serves, in the late sixties as a 'kit boat'. Good luck.

That is DEFINITELY a heavily customized GC31. It would be a 1965-68 model, refit in the 80s, or a leftover kit, which according to legend, a few still exist. I own hull #11, one of the few remaining GC31 ketch rigs.

Oh and as for the wheel helm, that is definitely an aftermarket Edson or like. The reason it is so far forward is that the rudder post has an extreme rake and the aft has a sharp cutaway so there is no room to rig steering components under the cockpit sole further aft.
