West Palm to West End crossing next Wednesday

Hi! I'm heading out of Lake Worth Inlet next Wednesday a.m. on a sailboat bound for West End and wondered if anyone else might be doing the same. Done the crossing several times but its always nice to have a buddy-boat along whenever possible for safety. Let me know if you have interest. Thanks. Happy sailing!

Hi Bifrost - we're hopping to make the crossing the week after you, departing from Ft Lauderdale. Fair winds!

Chris Parker this morning said that Tues is the day to go.
If you don’t have an HF Radio on board, you may consider at least buying in inexpensive receiver so you can listen to him.

Wednesday will be scary out there when the winds swing to the North at 20 plus knots

You're right! I've been using the Windy application along with NOAA but am finding out that my weather reports are not very detailed. Chris Parker, here I come! Thanks pal!

With all due respect to Chris and Jill, I do the net in Vero Beach; the NOAA analysis is available in other areas than FL/Bahamas

That said, Tuesday should be markedly better than Wednesday, and you want to be tucked in by midnight...

Good luck!

That is the time we are shooting for as well. Leaving Ft. Pierce this Thu or Fri and heading south to Ft. Lauderdale. A day or two there for last minute watermaker install or repairs, thanks Tellie. Then EB in the next weather window.

If you are still around then we will follow you across, if you want a buddy for the crossing that is..

Re: West Palm to West End crossing next Wednesday

Herb,

You can just hover in the background and listen to Crist's forecast to other boats near you till you sign up. I did that for a few years myself

Take good care of may old boat and have a wonderful crossing.
