Variant 22 rudder

Hi

Have a Variant 22 foot fin keel.. with loads of play in the rudder. Taking it out Monday and wondering what I'm dealing with. I'm guessing replacing a bush or bearing .. top and bottom of rudder post..?
Anyone done this and know what I'll need and where I can get it or get it made up?

I am not finding a drawing of your Variant 22 on the interwebs.
Is is also called something else? Pictures of the situation? Owners group online?

YEP. Time to haul the boat, drop the rudder, and replace the bearings. In all likelihood, that means (given a fin keel) removing the steering quadrant and whatever collar is keeping the rudder up, digging a hole under the rudder (don't park it on concrete!), and sliding it out. The top bearing is likely a plastic collar and the lower bearing is likely a Cutless. Overall, it's a DIY job, no big challenge.
