Trailer Sailor Pocket Cruiser Compac 16

My nieghbor is selling his Compac 16 II, 1981, 5HP 1999 Johnson, 3 sails, for 3,000 on Omena Michigan. He is retired from sailing, we sailed it today, thought it was worth 2500 tops but he would only come down 2750. Not many extras and not well taken care of either, stored outside, plugs were walker rubber ends, all lines worn, old gas tanks and lines not good for ethanol fuel. A little ding to keel. Age is showing. In comparing other Compac 16s, lots more extras and generally garage stored. What do you think, was I right to pass?
