We like the options our
ketch gives us. I should mention we are
cutter rigged forward and have a gaff rigged main. The mizzen is a largish sail for a mizzen, and does provide drive. We can tie lines to the tiller when we don't feel like hand
steering any longer and just adjust them when needed. On our
boat the main has running back stays, the mizzen does not.
Yes we have a lot of wire, two forestays, six shrouds on the main, two running back stays, four shrouds on the mizzen and no triatic.
She is a cruiser and comfortable under sail, when the tall rigged sloops are headed in, we can reef both main and mizzen the
boat stands up and dances along.
Not a
racer but not a slug either.
