Tampa to Tortugas - No night sailing.
My daughter has a thing about overnight passages. As in she hates them. She's fine 40' below the surface surrounded by black-tipped reef sharks, but put her in a sailboat on the ocean at night and she's convinced we'll be crushed by an oil tanker. Irrational? Hell, yes. Do I cave to it? You bet. So here's the query:
What's the best route, with waypoints - let's say two - from Tampa to Key West (we'll head to the Tortugas from there)? At anchor or in a marina each day at cocktail hour.

Re: Tampa to Tortugas - No night sailing.
What's your exact departure location? What's your time allowance? From st Pete it's a day sail to Venice and then a day sail to boca grande. From boca grande it's about 24 hrs to the tortugas... She can't do ONE night? Day sails all the way will take a week.
Going down it's not a big deal, but coming back it will be much nicer to make landfall around boca grande.. Other wise you're beating to windward.

What type of boat do you have? Although my hull speed is 6.8 knots, I use 4.5 knots as my planning speed.
Where in the Tampa Bay area are you starting from? It could make a difference how long it takes you just to get out of the bay and away from the Skyline.

Leave early in the morning during darkness when she is asleep, that way when she get up you have been underway and it's morning, that is a lot less scary

I do it 24 hours straight shot from Sarasota to Dry Tortugas or from Sarasota to Key West. It will take a long time to try and do it during the day only. I personally would straight shot to Key West and have her fly down and then take a couple days on the way back. Unfortunately there is no easy way to do just day sailing. Even if you left marathon early in the morning you'd be hard-pressed to pull in to Marco before dark. From East Cape to Naples it's 75 miles alone.

Make your way to Key West, then from there take a quick sail to Marquesas and spend the day.. Leave early in the morning for Tortugas and you'll be there just after lunch.

How long depends on boat speed which depends on wind speed and direction or speed under power. It is around seventy five miles.
Are you sure you want to go to Key West. Not much there but bad anchorages and overpriced bars.
It is only about three or four miles to the Boca Grande Channel between Boca Grande Key and the Marqueas Keys. Much better anchorages and better sunsets than Key West.

Should say about three or four miles more from Marco to Boca Grande Channel than to Key West.

Come on man Key West is a blast great food great music great sunsets freakshow I always stay at A&B marina on the T doc and it is an absolute blast being down there. Then when I've had enough fun I had to the Marquesas and then the Dry Tortugas for a couple days of fun and fishing and snorkeling can't be beat
