Sub-Forum for Newby Boat Choice Questions

Lately there doesn't seem to be as much harassment of newby's asking what boat to buy but it still seems to me a worthwhile idea to collect them in one subforum to make it easier for them to search and for all the 'Old Pens' to point at and say look there before asking questions that have been addressed ad naseum.

How does a nuew sub-forum for this purpose sound to people?

Re: Subforum for Newby boat choice questions.

Personally I'd prefer to see a sub forum for those same old posters that have a lack of ability to move on to another thread that does interest them, instead of a driving desire to post again and again "to point at and say look there before asking questions that have been addressed ad naseum." on a thread that doesn't interest them.

For those of us who have not yet purchased but have 2-4 year plans -- that would be fantastic.

But to the orginal question, what is the difference between a sub topic "new people" questions and their looking though the threads we already have?

Besides sometimes the "old" "new people" questions take a different spin worth reading if one desires.

Sounds like a bad idea to me. It would end up like the Multiholers sub-forum

Besides, I really don't see that newbies get harrassed on CF. Sometimes they get asked tough questions (or simply asked for a few more details). More risk of simply being ignored - see comments above on Multiholes.

Re: Subforum for Newby Boat Choice Questions

The question comes up so many times that I just put a couple links after my signature line so that I can refer folks to them from time to time.

Yes, I think its a good idea to put it in a subforum so we can refer them to the subforum.

kind regards,
