Spencer 35

I just bought a Spencer 35 hull #46 "Aja" and am interested in discussing the boat with any other Spencer 35 owners. Anybody out there?

Re: Spencer 35

Buy a copy of Hal Roth's book "After 50,000 Miles", probably out of print but easily found in used bookstores or online.

My neighbor has a Spencer 35 built in 1966, which I helped him find in 1997. He is also the creator of the owners group linked to above, for the last year handled by Larry Barr.

Aja is the third MkII built I believe. Are you in Vancouver?

I found SYOG but it seems it's not maintained anymore as most of the links are disabled. I wanted to send some info on the boat but couldn't find a contact or webmaster, do you have an email for larry?

Here is Larry's email: lbsvtl*at*isomedia*dot*com

It is unfortunate the site hasn't been kept up as in the past - hopefully that will change.

If you have any questions that can't be answered email me

Re: Spencer 35

I owned a Spencer 35 for about 90 days ... long story. Now I have a Spencer 42. Same design, just longer. I've had it about a year and am waist deep in a complete re-building project.

Re: Spencer 35

Nice blog. I put you in my list of links.

A second endorsement for Hal Roth's old books in which he and his wife took their Spencer 35 to the ends of the Earth, stove in the hull, and then repaired it well enough to sail back.
