Southern CA Moorage

Hello,

I live in San Diego and have a 32 foot sailboat. Slips fees are really expensive so over the years I have tried to find the best deal. So, I was wondering if others have ideas that I haven't thought of. A slip for a 32 costs around 4-500 so here are the options I have found that are cheaper:

San Diego harbor Police doc - can only stay for 10 days
San Diego anchorages - can only stay for short stays
San Diego cruisers anchorage - have to be non-resident
Mission bay anchorage - 3 day stay only
Zuniga jetty on the hook - rough, long ride in, crime?
oceanside harbor police - expensive
military - cheap but don't really qualify (i think)
San Diego bay mooring - cheap but waiting list

So, what about south of the border or north of dana point? any good deals on anchorages or moorings? Anybody have a secret spot? How about living on the hook in Catalina or elsewhere in southern Ca or south of border? has anyone done that?

what about leaving the boat at a vacation spot somewhere and using it as a vacation condo? any ideas or deals that you know about?

any ideas would be of interest to me. Just trying to share info.
