Sink for my Boat

Currently I'm living in my motorhome next to the 42 boat I'm rebuilding. I've got the galley part way done and it was time to put the sink in ... but what do I want? Long story short, turns out I have a 16 x 16 sink in my motorhome that would work perfectly. So, I filled the sink with glass and resin and made a mold. I modified it a little to be what I need for the boat. Now I have a sink that will drain on both tacks.
If anyone wants me to make them one just PM me.
It was a fun project and will be usefull for years to come.
Next project is to make 6 dorade vent boxes.

Re: Sink for my Boat

Great idea. All boat sinks should be made like that.

Re: Sink for my Boat

Looks pretty good for a homemade sink. Is that thru-hulls for the drains? Nice idea for it to drain on each tack.

HopCar...

I think you should start offering:

"custom made 16" double tack drain sinks"

Maybe there's a beneficial relationship there!

Re: Sink for my Boat

Rhapsody-NS27 ... yes, thru-hulls with the little points on the flanges machined off. Also, where they go thru, just like on a boat the sink is built up thicker for support.

HappyMdSailor ... I've already thought of that. I'll make one for anyone who wants one.

More on Sink for my Boat

Today I installed the sink into the sub-counter. I've got lots of good counter space around the sink and having it offset half way isn't a problem for using it. I'm really pleased with how it turned out.

Lowell...

You never know... You may have stumbled into "your financial ride"... Maybe not, but the sink is unique enough to have merit....

I think the offset is a great idea... Opens up "working counter space"
