Should I tell the new owner.... OMG are you kidding me!?

I bought an IO-540 aircraft engine a few years ago for someone. Then I heard how it was for sale.
A man in South Carolina was selling airplane rides, retired but did it for the enjoyment of it, a California man bought a ride, the California man's wife had just sued for divorce, he was so upset that he decided the way to die was to kill himself, and of course the pilot on this airplane ride, he was successful. Aircraft had dual controls as almost all do.
His wife in California was suing the wife of the dead pilot somehow, suing among other things that she wasn't getting sex now that her husband was dead, God knows how she was allowed to sue, but the dead pilots wife was selling things off to pay for the defense.

There was very convincing evidence that the passenger and pilot were wrestling for the controls, and I think he left a note detailing how he was going to kill himself.

Point is I guess that almost anyone can be sued for seemingly almost any reason. OP needs to tell the truth about the boat, if not I believe he can be held liable.

Might not be held liable, but the cost of establishing that could be ruinous!

This seems like the ultimate no-brainer: if still part of the legal picture, disclose all defects known. If not still part of the legal picture, disclose all defects known.

But all this advice is for naught... the person involved ain't reading it!

The term "culpable negligence" comes to mind. Look it up and read it carefully.. Ted.
