Should I spend more for a better boat.

Hi looking for the ideal Cat for the smallest price.
I have been told you either pay Now or you Pay later.
That might be true but I am aiming at $200k Australian so want to get your opinion on value for money I would like reasonable speed.
So dagger boards and composite lighter construction.
I need 2 motors for maneuverability had a single out board and that doesn't work for me.
I like the idea of 10 to 11 meter boat.
The rest isn't that important.
Here are a couple of options.
The Crowther Seafire 1995 boat with old motors had work done on it new rigging but I'm sure will be things to be done.

The second is a Streamline Exodus you might not know them much newer design and newer boat.

My question is should I be spending as much as I can afford rather than spending as little as I have to..
Coastal sailing will be all I will be doing I think.
Appreciate your help..

Re: Should I spend more for a better boat.

looks like you've already missed the second one, which certainly is a nicer boat than the crowther

but there are several better buys out there at the moment...

eg

https://yachthub.com/list/yachts-for...loud-10/273631

as regards your question : there is no simple answer. imho you need to keep in mind that whatever you buy, there will be more to spend. i don't know whether you can fund this out of income or need to include in the capital purchase, but be aware when buying that you'll always need to fix / replace things

it also depends upon how handy you are. a nice boat that needs some work can be a good investment - if you buy wisely and know what you are doing.

probably the sensible thing to do is spend as little as you have to...but since when was buying a boat a sensible decision !

i know i am not listening to my own advice...we are in the market at the moment and will be plowing every penny we can scrap together into the new one !

good luck
