shipyard in NZ-please recommend
After sailing 60,000 Nm I'll arrive to NZ and I'm planing a comprehensive refit to my s.v. a Najad 570.
Looking for a shipyard that can handle a variety of tasks like, woodwork, rigging, electronics, hull work.
Please can you recommend.
thanks.

Also check Gulf Harbour closer to Auckland.

Re: shipyard in NZ-please recommend
Opua, Bay of Islands Boatyard (previously known as Ashbie's) is a good choice. Beautiful area and comprehensive services all close by. We found price differences between different yards to be about the same in the area. Whangarei is 15miles up a tidal river. The yards are there are outside of town. We were in a marina there and experienced several theft issues over the course of a month so decided to return to Opua to haulout. Auckland is more expensive and can be a bit nerve wracking but worth inquiring.

We've used Norsand boatyard and intend to do so again this year.
They are in Whangerei.

Re: shipyard in NZ-please recommend
+1 for Norsand, we just completed a three-month refit there. We like Whangarei over the larger Gulf Harbour/Auckland area, most things are available and those that aren't are a one-day, $10 courier drop from Auckland. However, if you need highly specialized technical help it may be easier to find closer to Auckland (there are very few things I can think of).
If you're living on the boat in the yard Port Whangarei has newer facilities (laundry, shower, etc.). On the down side Port Whangarei is a closed yard - all outside vendors must bill through the yard and the yard adds a 20% fee but doesn't do anything for it (such as project management, etc.). Norsand is open for services they don't provide in house. Rigging, painting, glass and boat repair are in-house; stainless/aluminium fabrication, canvas, sails you can find your own vendor or have them deal with it.

Re: shipyard in NZ-please recommend
We hauled our 53' Amel SuperMaramu at Half Moon Bay in Auckland in 2016. Fantastic yard in our experience. Smaller yard mainly focused on the local fleet, but very welcoming to overseas boats. The contractors I used on site were all very good and it's an open yard, so you can also bring outside contractors (riggers etc.) in if you want.

Just splashed my 52 ft boat at Dockland 5, was on hard for one month.
You can bring anyone in to do work here.
Cheers

Port Nelson is another option. 2,500tonne capacity slipway nearby means plenty of skills in the neighborhood.

Not sure I would say that. They handle multihulls very, very well. But they also have 50-60 mono cradles ready to go, with probably 40 of them full while we were there. Had a 55 foot Bene out for keel bolts while we were there, and another in the shed for painting.
Yes, at that size you'll be limited to top of the tide dates/times. I'd call them and discuss the options then decide as a I think they're a pretty class act.

Re: shipyard in NZ-please recommend
I second Nelson with its range of travel lifts and slipways. Plenty of highly skilled tradespeople at very reasonable rates (because the land rent hasn't been yuppified out of reach of real people). A great community with plenty of arts and culture and so close to so many natural wonders. Basically, it has everything Auckland and further north has to offer without the disadvantages except having to sail a little further.
Or you could come to Vanuatu for the refit.
