Shipping a Yacht from US to UK

Anybody have an idea how much it would cost to ship a 36' x 11' yacht from Miami to the UK or to Spain?

If you can get it into a 40' freight container it might be a lot cheaper because it will be easier to handle by the equipment at ports, it will also provide more security for the boat and any equiplment. I would suggest contacting a freight forwarder.

approx 8-10,000 dollars via breakbulk transport, a good bit more for custom yacht transport. Then theres VAT , RCD certification + Mods, 110-< 230VAC etc etc. ) all assuming your not just visiting).

Re: Shipping a Yacht from US to UK

Thanks to all for your input.

I'm just looking for options really, I just got transferred to Shekou, China, and that's a 9000 mile great circle trip to Miami. Given the high cost of shipping I think I'll just sail her down to the Houston/clear lake area, and leave her in the care of friends for the duration of my three year posting.

Cheers
Paul
