Shannon 50

Anyone know much about this boat? I am looking for a family cruising boat for the Caribbean, eventually liveaboard for a year. My 5 year old son had some seasickness with average seas on a chartered Sun Odyssey 40.3 so I am going to look for something more stable. The boat I have now is a J/27 on a lake.

Bonine for the first three days will fix the seasickness. Chewable tablets without any side effects. Available over the counter at CVS and most pharmacies.

Much cheaper than a Shannon 50 which won't change anything. I got seasick occasionally on my Hunter 450 during the first few days, and I occasionally take a Bonine during the first few days on our Oyster which is much more stable if I need to do some gross stuff like going up the mast. The boat doesn't make much difference regarding seasickness. A 40ft catamaran will offer more stability than any monohull if that's what you're after.

my wife drinks Goslings Ginger Beer. It's just strong Gingerale. Other brands are weeker than Goslings. I love it. They also make some Ginger pills. They call Ginger the "Fishermans Secrete" Ya, don't think type and size of boat will do much. Some people even have problems with double hulls rotation with the waves while sitting.
Good Luck, Boot Key Dan
