Re: Sailing ICW in pocket cruiser.

I have a Santana 2023 water ballast and swing centerboard and before the wife and kids, especially right after I got out of the Army, I would disappear for a month on her. She's laid out below with lots of room for her size with a head, small galley V berth and 3 bunks with a pop top for extra room at anchor which I never use. I'm at the very north end of the ICW in the Barnegat bay.

Re: Sailing ICW in pocket cruiser.

That should be great fun! There are groups of old guys doing so in 20-24' simple boats. I ran into a few doing so up here in the PNW. They had been all over PNW US/Canada in their little ships. Simple and easy. Heck, you're just sleeping inside really. The rest of the time dining out , cooking breakfast in the cockpit or having a beer at some local haunt! What could be better? Your 2-4 hp outboard fails? Screw it, buy another! One pull and the mainsail is UP!
A couple of them I saw were the Brewer Nimble 20 and Rob Roy 23.

that is what my husband says... simple and cheap... instead of being boat poor, I would rather spend my money doing other things... one small simple boat for one simple man and maybe at times the wife.
