So much great info! So I have had boats off and on for years, but this is my first sailboat.. So I'm treating it with a lot of respect because it's so different. Do you really think it will take 5 days? I was hoping to get it done in 3 full days.

Thanks to everyone for the advice and information. I can't wait to get started. I'm having a 100 hour service done this weekend to make sure the engine is just right, the previous owner left me with tons of spare parts. I am hoping do do the trip by the end of October.

Heck no, I thought you wanted to have some fun. I've done Marco to Punta Gorda in one day but life is too short for that stuff. The leg from Pelican to Venice goes through a canal and is long and boring in the canal. Don't forget to check Active Captain for info.

Go outside and sail straight through in about 18 hours.
