Sailboat searching!

So right now I have a Cal 28-2. I believe I am crazy enough to sell my house and live on my boat for a much greater cause which is to buy a bigger boat and sail around the world.

I'm looking at a Beneteau 38.1. I fell in love with Beneteau as it was the first sailboat I was ever actually on. I was wondering if anyone had alternatives I should look into as well or just thoughts on the Beneteau in general.

On a side note if someone brought this to my attention 10 years ago....I'd almost be a millionaire. A single millionaire but nothing wrong with that.

Beneteau. Nothing wrong with them and lots of people doing water sailing">blue water sailing in them. At least the newer models. If it were me I would buy a 80's model blue water cruiser from the 80's when they were built like tanks. And the money savings I would put into outfitting the boat like I want it.
That's just me. Beneteau if you had to have one. Buy a new model. Post 2005 or so. Many others could give a better picture on quality.
