Sailboat marketing ?

Hello,

New to the forum, i am just dreaming for future retirement. (of course used market, and mainstream boats sold by rental companies)

Is it true that hanse 495,505, 508 have all the same hull, keel, rudder, rig ? Only cosmetic change in deck and layout ? (495 have bridgedeck, 505 straight cockpit benches with central table, 508 curved bench with two side table).

What are the differences between Jeanneau Sun odyssey 509, 519 and Jeanneau yacht 51 ?

Does someone have some production numbers about the older Beneteau 49/Oceanis 50, Hanse 495/505/508 and jeanneau 509/519/51 ?

Thanks for answers.

In general it is fairly common for builders to utilize and modify an already existing mold for a new model.

Re: Sailboat marketing ?

As time goes, dreams shrink ...

Beneteau 49/Oceanis 50 are cheaper than Hanse 495/505. But I am not sure that maintenance/ownership cost are way lower.

Whatabout Hanse 445/455 ? not really smaller, just less big

Again do Hanse 445/455/458 share same hull, keel, rig etc... ?

Everything you ask is on Sailboatdata.com
https://sailboatdata.com/compare/res...mpaign=compare

Length at waterline of the 445, 455 and 458 are all 12.2 meters and the 430 is really close too.

I looked on Hanse site, older models.

All figures for 445/458 seem the same, except forestay attachment for self tacking jib (and foresail area) , and small variation in displacement.

I was just surprised that it looks to be essentially the same boat for near 10 years, but marketed as 3 different upgraded models.
