Removing trim-lok style window gaskets

My Albin Vega's windows are (notoriously) fitted with locking rubber gaskets. When I was back in the states, I ordered new 25 feet of trim-lok to replace my leaky window seals. The product looks like this:

https://www.trimlok.com/rubber-extrusion/locking-gasket

There's lots of information on how to install these seals, but I haven't found much on how to remove them. If I knew for certain that I had the right trim-lok product replacement, I would probably just cut them out. However, I fear the window thickness might be different than expected, and I'll be left with a big hole in the side of my boat that I can't seal again because I destroyed the old gasket.

Does anyone have experience removing these types of windows?
